Juvenile Arrested in Culver City Carjacking Case
Incident Overview
On the night of March 3, 2023, Culver City police responded to a carjacking report at a parking lot located on the 10800 block of Jefferson Boulevard around 9 p.m. A female victim reported that she was approached by three male suspects, aged between 16 and 25, who had red bandannas covering their faces.
Details of the Carjacking
The suspects forcibly took the woman’s purse and car keys before quickly locating her vehicle using the stolen keys. One of the suspects drove off in the victim’s car, while the other two followed in a different vehicle. Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, but the suspects had already fled.
Recovery and Investigation
The following morning, around 6:30 a.m., the stolen vehicle was discovered abandoned in Los Angeles. Police retrieved the car and processed it for evidence. During the investigation, the Forensics Unit identified a suspect through fingerprints found inside the vehicle.
Apprehension of the Suspect
The identified juvenile suspect, whose name has not been released due to his age, was apprehended on March 4, just a day after the carjacking. As of now, the other two individuals involved in the crime remain at large, and authorities are continuing to investigate.
