Man Charged with Stalking After Incident at Jennifer Aniston’s Home

A man from New Albany, Mississippi, has been arrested following a dramatic incident at the Bel Air residence of actress Jennifer Aniston. The 48-year-old, identified as Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, is facing up to three years in prison if convicted on multiple charges, announced the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Wednesday.

Details of the Incident

Carwyle’s alleged harassment of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning star reportedly began in March 2023. Prosecutors allege that he has been persistently sending unwanted messages through social media, emails, and voicemails aimed at Aniston, referred to in legal documents as “Jennifer A.”

The situation escalated on May 5, when Carwyle allegedly drove through the front gates of Aniston’s mansion, causing property damage. At the time of the intrusion, Aniston was reportedly at home.

Police Response

Local authorities were alerted to the disturbance at approximately 12:20 p.m. after receiving reports of a burglary suspect. Private security personnel in the vicinity detained Carwyle until the Los Angeles Police Department arrived on the scene. Although he complained of pain from the incident, he was taken into custody without resistance.

Charges and Legal Proceedings

Carwyle now faces charges including one count of felony stalking and one count of felony vandalism, with an aggravating circumstance related to the threat of great bodily harm, as stated by L.A. County prosecutors. Prosecutors are expected to request a bail amount of $150,000, and Carwyle is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment shortly.

Prosecutor’s Statement

Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman emphasized the seriousness of stalking, stating, “Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions, threatening the safety of victims and our communities. My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorize others, ensuring they are held accountable.”
