15-Year-Old Boy Injured in South Los Angeles Hit-and-Run

A 15-year-old boy, identified as Sebastian Carillo, was hospitalized after a driver struck him with their vehicle before fleeing the scene. The incident occurred on April 7, 2025, in South Los Angeles.

The Incident

Surveillance footage captured the moment the incident took place around 3:30 p.m. on the 2100 block of Nadeau Street. Carillo was riding on the sidewalk when a BMW sedan unexpectedly veered off course and collided directly with his bicycle. The impact of the crash caused Sebastian to be thrown onto the hood of the car before landing on the ground.

Aftermath and Rescue Efforts

After the crash, the driver of the BMW hesitated briefly before speeding away from the scene. Bystanders rushed to assist Sebastian, with one individual helping him immediately as others documented the incident and the vehicle’s departure.

Injuries and Family Response

Carillo was taken to a local hospital where he received treatment for his injuries, including eight stitches to his mouth. Reports indicate that he is currently experiencing difficulty communicating as he recovers from the traumatic event.

His father, Eric Carillo, expressed his concern, relaying Sebastian’s recollection of the crash: “He remembers coming from school and just seeing the car going towards him.” Eric fears that his son may have been targeted without provocation.

Investigation and Community Support

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is actively investigating the accident and has not dismissed the notion that the hit-and-run might have been intentional. Eric shared his frustration about his son’s condition, stating, “It’s frustrating seeing my son at home, not wanting to go outside, just in pain. I just want justice for my son.” He noted that the traumatic experience has had a profound effect on Sebastian, who is now reluctant to attend school.

Authorities described the suspect’s vehicle as a black, four-door 2025 BMW sedan. They are encouraging anyone with information related to the incident to reach out by calling 424-551-4000.
