Community Urged to Aid Investigation into Los Feliz Hit-and-Run
A woman who survived a serious hit-and-run incident in Los Feliz is reaching out for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved. The incident occurred on April 3, leaving the victim unconscious and injured in the street.
Incident Overview
Kate Oliva was jogging around 11:30 a.m. when she was struck by a vehicle described as a white SUV or truck at the intersection of Talmadge Street and Franklin Avenue. “Being hit is one thing, being left is quite another,” remarked Oliva, reflecting on the traumatic experience. She sustained significant injuries, including a concussion and visible cuts and bruises.
Support from the Community
After the accident, a passerby found Oliva lying unconscious and bleeding, providing timely assistance. “I had a concussion. I had to get staples [in my head]. I had bruising and cuts all over the right side of my body,” she explained.
Despite her ongoing recovery journey, Oliva expressed gratitude toward the community: “If there is one silver lining to this experience it’s that I’ve gotten to know so many people in this community. This is such a lovely place to live.”
Current Status of the Investigation
Local detectives have been active in canvassing the vicinity and have reached out to potential witnesses, though the driver remains unidentified. Oliva is eager for additional insights into the incident, stating, “It would be great to have a better understanding of what happened, who did this.”
