Reflecting on his journey, Paul remarked on social media, “Five years ago, I stepped into the ring for my pro debut after 1 amateur fight, and every fight since has been a step towards becoming world champion.” He expressed excitement about his upcoming challenge, citing his recent victory over Mike Tyson as a stepping stone in his career. “I just defeated the baddest man on the planet and broke multiple records, and now I’m going against a former world champion with 54 wins who Canelo could barely beat.”

This matchup comes approximately six months after Paul won a unanimous decision against the boxing icon Mike Tyson in a record-setting live event streamed on Netflix. That victory has bolstered his confidence as he prepares for another high-stakes fight.

In a statement provided to ESPN, he stated, “First of all, I will show what I can do now that everything is in the right place in my life – mentally and physically. I feel rejuvenated and 10 years younger.” He also acknowledged the opportunity to fight Paul and expressed confidence in his abilities, saying, “Unfortunately for their Problem Child, they’re going to have a big problem this June—one they won’t know how to resolve.”

Upcoming Fight Details

The bout is scheduled to take place on June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim and will be broadcasted live on DAZN pay-per-view. Paul enthused, “I, El Gallo De Dorado, mexi-CAN knock him tf out,” emphasizing his determination to win while honoring the legacy of Chávez Sr.
