John Carpenter Announces One-Night-Only Concert in NYC
(NEXSTAR) — Renowned horror filmmaker and composer John Carpenter has declared a unique concert in New York City scheduled just before Halloween this year, marking an exciting opportunity for fans on the East Coast.
Event Details
The concert will take place at the Knockdown Center in Queens at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 10. This event marks Carpenter’s first live performance in New York since 2018.
What to Expect
During this special concert, Carpenter is set to perform a selection of music from his numerous iconic film scores, such as Halloween, The Thing, Escape from New York, and Assault on Precinct 13. Additionally, fans can anticipate pieces from his standalone albums, showcasing his wide-ranging talent and creativity alongside his longtime collaborators—Daniel Davies and his son, Cody Carpenter.
Recent Works
Carpenter’s latest musical project, Lost Themes IV: Noir, is the fourth entry in his acclaimed “Lost Themes” series, which commenced with his eponymous album in 2015. The series consists of tracks inspired by classic cinema, presenting a conceptual sound as if they were forgotten themes from lost films.
Upcoming Performances
This upcoming concert in New York City serves as a precursor to Carpenter’s scheduled four-night residency in Los Angeles. This series will occur at The Belasco from October 24-25 and from October 31 to November 1.
Carpenter’s Message to Fans
“As soon as we announced my four-night L.A. residency, the response was incredible, and I wanted to offer my fans on the East Coast a chance to hear our music without having to fly across the country,” Carpenter stated, according to Bloody Disgusting. “With a one-night show, we’ll get to really dig deep into our musical souls, which is something I can’t wait to share.”
