From Santa Monica’s bustling Third Street Promenade to Hollywood’s art galleries, the day was marked by festivities that set the tone for a month-long series of Pride events across the city.
In Santa Monica, the Third Street Promenade transformed into a lively hub of activity, featuring musical performances, family-friendly games, and a retail pop-up showcasing local LGBTQIA+ businesses. This event, part of the broader SaMo Pride initiative, emphasized community engagement and support for LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs. Attendees enjoyed interactive booths, live entertainment, and opportunities to connect with local organizations dedicated to LGBTQ+ advocacy.
Simultaneously, in Hollywood, the Musichead Gallery unveiled “Simply the Best: The Power and Perseverance of Tina Turner,” a photographic exhibition honoring the late music icon. The exhibit features 20 photographs by 11 artists, capturing Turner’s dynamic career and enduring influence on music and culture.
