Oxnard Man Arrested in Major Drug Bust
Background and Arrest
Richard Edward Linares, a 48-year-old resident of Oxnard, was arrested in connection with the sale of illegal narcotics throughout Ventura County. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office had been actively investigating Linares prior to his arrest.
Search Warrant Execution
On April 29, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at Linares’ residence located on the 1400 block of Cedar Street. This warrant was a culmination of the ongoing investigation aimed at curbing the distribution of controlled substances.
Illicit Substances Seized
During the search, deputies confiscated a substantial array of illegal narcotics, including:
- Over 8 ounces (236 grams) of cocaine
- More than 1 ounce (35 grams) of methamphetamine
- Psilocybin mushrooms
- Adderall pills
- Various unidentified substances
Additionally, detectives discovered a significant quantity of packaging materials, indicative of narcotics distribution activities.
Financial Evidence
In conjunction with the narcotics, law enforcement also seized over $74,000 in cash, which they believe to be profits from drug sales. This financial evidence plays a crucial role in the investigation.
Current Status
Linares is currently in custody facing charges related to the possession of controlled substances with intent to sell. His trial is forthcoming.
