Ride Experience Launch Date

Disneyland Resort is set to unveil a new ride experience based on the popular series “The Mandalorian” on May 22, 2026. This launch coincides with the premiere of the feature film, “The Mandalorian & Grogu.” This is a significant milestone as it marks the franchise’s first dedicated ride experience at Disneyland.

Announcement Details

The details of this exciting addition were revealed during the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Attendees were given a glimpse of what to expect as Disney enhances the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

New Storyline and Destinations

For the first time, riders will have the opportunity to select their own destinations while piloting the iconic Millennium Falcon. The new locations include:

• Bespin, a gas planet
• The wreckage of the second Death Star near Endor
• Coruscant, a bustling city-planet

Roles and Responsibilities on the Ride

Participants in the ride can choose from three distinct roles:

• Pilot: Responsible for flying the ship.
• Gunner: Controls blasters to fend off enemy attacks.
• Engineer: Handles repairs to the ship as it incurs damage from foes.

Notably, the engineer will be tasked with an additional duty—caring for Grogu, affectionately known to fans as “Baby Yoda.” While the specifics of this interaction remain under wraps, Grogu will have means of communication with the engineer.

Dave Filoni, Star Wars creative executive, expressed enthusiasm for this innovative collaboration: “The intersection of storytelling and innovation has always been central to Lucasfilm and we’re excited to see where this collaboration will take us next. While the ride’s narrative will launch alongside “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” it will possess a storyline that is distinct from that of the feature film starring Pedro Pascal. This distinction promises a fresh adventure for both seasoned fans and newcomers alike.
