LAPD Seeks Public Help in Westlake Hit-and-Run Incident
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is actively soliciting assistance from the public to locate a driver involved in a serious hit-and-run incident that occurred in the Westlake neighborhood last December.
Incident Details
The accident transpired on December 13, around 10:45 a.m., when a white Nissan Xterra was reported to be reversing on Burlington Avenue. During this maneuver, the vehicle struck a male pedestrian who was in the process of crossing the street.
Driver’s Actions
Following the collision, the driver failed to stop or provide assistance and sped away in a southerly direction toward Wilshire Avenue. The reason for the vehicle’s backward movement has not been clarified, nor has there been any information regarding whether the driver shifted into drive.
Injuries and Reward
The pedestrian suffered from severe injuries and required hospitalization following the accident. To encourage potential witnesses or those with information to come forward, police have issued a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification of the driver.
