Arrest Made in Palm Desert Restroom Recording Case
A resident of Palm Desert, California, has been taken into custody following accusations of recording several young boys in a restroom setting. Joseph Seiders, 44, was apprehended by local authorities on April 9, 2025, after two incidents were reported involving minors at a local business.
Details of the Incidents
Seiders allegedly recorded an 11-year-old boy on April 7 and subsequently was seen again on April 9 entering and exiting the restroom with other juvenile males. The eyewitness accounts led to an investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The business where the incidents occurred has been identified as a Chick-fil-A located in the 73000 block of Dinah Shore Drive. Following the report from the young victim and observations reported by a staff member, deputies investigated further into Seiders’ activities.
Charges and Evidence
Upon his arrest, authorities found evidence linking Seiders to the reported crimes, which extend beyond just the recordings. Charges against him include:
- Possession of child pornography
- Annoying or molesting a child
- Invasion of privacy
- Attempted invasion of privacy
Additionally, jail records indicate that he faces charges for disorderly conduct related to the use of concealed cameras.
Current Status and Ongoing Investigation
Seiders is currently held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility with a bail set at $1 million. He is scheduled to appear at the Indio Larson Justice Center on Tuesday.
